Our House, Inc. is a 501(C)3 non-profit organization located in Monroe, Louisiana and serves all of northeast Louisiana. Our House was established in 1990 as the local affiliate of National Safe Place, the national program designed to assess runaway and homeless adolescents, youth in crisis and their families, by providing intervention, shelter, referral, and/or advocacy on behalf of the young person in crisis.

Founded by Dr. Carol Christopher, Our House serves as a safe haven for runaway, homeless, throwaway, victimized, and non-adjudicated youth. Our House, Inc. operates four programs to provide the necessary services to guide at-risk youth in the development of a strong stable foundation to become productive citizens.

These programs include:
Safe Place Outreach for all youth
Basic Center Program for emergency shelter for male and female youth ages 11-17 years old.
Transitional Living Program for young adults ages 17 – 21 years old and the accompanying small children.
Homeless Prevention/Rapid Re-housing for young adults 17-21 years old with or without children and over 21 years old with minor children only.
